IMRGF Secretary
Welcome to IMRGF!
Thanks for stopping by to check out the group.
If you are looking for a group that feels and treats you like family (without all the drama) then you’re in the right place. ♥ A meeting was held in October of 2022 to discuss reestablishing the IMRG Fredericksburg Chapter. My husband, ISCH, was out of town attending his National MC meeting and suggested I go to the meeting and see what it was all about since we were looking for fellow local bikers to ride with. I was sitting in the meeting taking notes (as I usually do), BIB took notice of this and proclaimed “we’ve found our Secretary”; and I’ve been the Secretary ever since 😊.
I grew up around motorcycles ~ my Daddy was a motorcycle policeman for Arlington Co. and passed his love of motorcycles onto my brother and me. When we were growing up, my parents purchased property at Indian Acres and we would spend many a weekend and summer vacations at The Acres. It seemed like every kid there had their own mini bike and it wasn’t long before Daddy bought my brother and me our own. I was around 9 or 10 when I became the proud owner of a Honda 70; I loved riding that bike every chance I got.
Thankfully I married a man who also enjoys riding motorcycles ♥ He had a bike when we were dating and November 1985 we hopped on his bike headed south. He grew up in California and had wanted to visit Williamsburg. At the time we lived in Dale City, we got to Fredericksburg and stopped at the IHOP for breakfast. As we got off the bike, I asked him why he was all wet. Well, apparently, it was raining and he had been blocking me from getting wet so I hadn’t noticed. We both got a good chuckle out of it. We decided to enjoy breakfast and head back home and try another day.
We got married in September 1987 and the kids started coming right away – we had to give up the motorcycle for a 15-passenger van. Now that the majority of our 13 kids are grown and off living their own lives and our youngest ones are teenagers we are once again embracing the bike life together. I enjoy riding on the back of our 2015 Indian Roadmaster; hubby dreams of us one day riding side by side. I did take the MSF course and obtained my license ~ haven’t decided on my bike yet. For now, I am happy holding on to my hubby and riding wherever the road takes us ♥
